Welcome to Guitar Inlays Headquarters!

Welcome to Guitar Inlays HQ

Here at Guitar Inlays Headquarters, we hope to become the Internet’s No.1 resource for guitar inlay information. We’re still putting together content for the site, so please be patient as we don’t want to rush the process and end up with another poorly organized website filled with (mis)-information.

Here’s what we have planned for the website: Our focus will be on guitar inlays and marquetry. We’ll write reviews and product comparisons about inlay related tools and kits. We’ll explore the differences between classic abalone, nacre (mother of pearl or MOP), various metals, precious gems and stones, tusks, exotic woods, and even newer laminates such as Abalam that are now used for inlays. We’ll check out inlay sticker kits and write reviews on which are safe and playable, and more importantly which ones can damage the finish of your guitar. We also want to feature articles showcasing fantastic inlay work too, so you can get inspired and follow in the footsteps of other great luthiers. We want to publish interviews and how-to’s by the world’s top inlay luthiers. Finally, we want to eventually setup a forum where you, our readers, can visit, brainstorm, discuss, and read your own posts on everything from new-age CNC routing to old school DIY design.

As you can see, we have big hopes for Guitar Inlays HQ, so please bear with us as we slowly flesh out the website with content and ideas and eventually make it the Internet’s No.1 resource for guitar inlays. And while we’ve got you here, we would really love it if you tell us what sorts of information you would like to read about here — it would really help us with ideas for content! And if you’re interested in getting updates as we put more and more content here, be sure to sign up for our mailing list. (zero spam, we promise!)
